System Description: This system is used for tracking classified and unclassified records housed at the Savannah River Site (SRS) and at the Atlanta Federal Records Center, especially those records frozen under the epidemiologic records moratorium. Information includes the location, retention schedule, and description of the records created at SRS since the early 1950s. Although the system is strictly for the use of SRS records management personnel, other employees have read-only access to the database. Data is entered into this system using the Record Transmittal to Archival Storage Form (OSR17-8). The RETN database is being updated to include barcoded information.
