Series Description: This series consists of Sampling Analytical Reports created by the General Laboratory for samples from offsite and onsite sources. Data on the reports include sample types; reasons for sampling; results (in variable units); and methods or equipment used for the analysis, including gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy, and alpha spectrometry. Materials analyzed included waste oil; raw and treated waste; surface, laundry, reservoir, pond, and waste water; air from air cylinders; miscellaneous steel bars and machinery parts; liquid argon systems; routine building air and water samples; and many more. In addition to sampling for radioactivity and contaminants, the laboratory analyzed substances, especially metals, to insure that they met the purity standards outlined in government or plant specifications. The laboratory also tested the atomic absorption of various elements in different metals and water. Analytical Reports from 1985 through 1989 were generated by the Automated Information System. See Accession Numbers 434-90-0061 (Boxes 763993-763994, 763999, 764008), 434-92-0056 (Boxes 903312, 903314), 434-92-0059 (Boxes 722649, 722651, 722656), and 434-93-0006 (Box 57258) for analytical reports relating specifically to tritium analysis; Accession Number 434-92-0021 (Boxes 764824 and 764826) for reports relating to beryllium sampling; and Accession Number 434-90-0061 (Box 763999) for reports concerning high volume beta samples.
