System Description: The Hazard Inventory Database was initiated in 1990 to meet the requirements of Department of Energy Order 5480.10 (Contractor Industrial Hygiene Program). The database is used to monitor the hazards generated by "active processes" [work activities], excluding clerical and administrative tasks. Data are entered into the system from Safety and Hygiene General Area Hazard Assessment Forms, General Area Hazard Assessment Forms, and Industrial Hygiene Air Sample Forms. The database can be accessed by process numbers, process titles, building supervisors, building numbers, and room numbers. Data fields include process titles and numbers, building numbers, general descriptions, training required, potential hazards, controls, and recommendations. The database is also used to generate several documents, including the Process Master List, Process by Job Class, Process and Medical Surveillance List, Activity/Potential Hazards/Controls for a Specific Process, and General Area Specific Potential Hazard. The database is continually updated.
