Series Description: The Excess Chemical Handling Records consist mainly of Excess/Waste Chemical Disposition Forms, which are submitted to Waste Regulatory Programs by departments which have excess chemicals. Copies of the forms are sent to a subcontracting company, called Wastren, which categorizes the chemicals described on the forms as radioactive (category 1), non-radioactive and unsuitable for shipment offsite (category 2), or non-radioactive and suitable for resale or shipment offsite (category 3). Interfiled with the forms are correspondence and reports. The series also contains an Excess Waste Chemical Tracking Log, which is used to monitor the receipt of the disposition forms. The log lists the building, department, and container types in which the chemicals are stored.
