Series Description: Shop Travelers are forms which accompanied components or assemblies during the manufacturing process to document that they were produced according to design specifications and program requirements. Each traveler includes order, part, lot, and serial numbers; quantities produced; part descriptions; control and deviation numbers; heat/lot codes; "work acct. ctr."; operation numbers, sequence, and descriptions; procedure instructions; drawing numbers; materials and specification document numbers; M-document and revision numbers; employee numbers; dates each operation was completed; EO [Engineering Order] numbers; and part classification codes. Recent versions also include bar coding which was used to track the status of each unit with a computer database.
