Series Description: This series contains a ledger, titled Material Control Record Rooms 180 and 180B Fire Area Work Sheets (CD59-1843), which is an inventory and balance sheet of removal and loss from the fire. A note at the bottom of the ledger indicates that Room 180 opened for final cleanup during April 1960, and the first physical inventory of material occurred on April 30, 1960. The ledger indicates the quantity of alpha material in Room 180 before and after the 1957 fire and the amount of material unaccounted for (MUF) by area. Additionally, the report contains physical inventory information indicating types of solution, skulls [metallic casting residues], and chemical compounds that were lost. Employees located in the physical inventory areas are identified by name. Another report, A Plutonium MUF Summary Report (CD64-169), refers readers to report CD57-1660 for additional information regarding the 1957 fire. However, this report was not included in this series. The report is also not in the technical reports collection at the 706 Technical Library.
