Series Description: This series, which predominantly concerns the Rocky Flats fire of 1969, includes general correspondence and technical reports. The fire of September 1957 is often mentioned in connection with the release of plutonium from fires. Fire-related materials may be found in Box 1, Folders 1 and 7 to 11. Box 2, Folder 17, contains a brief mention of the 1957 fire in a 1975 declassified document. Another document, Rocky Flats Fire Experience, 1955 to 1971, discusses the cost of the fire but provides no further data on its effects.
