Series Description: This series contains accident and incident reports for all Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) sites. One file specifically on the 1957 Rocky Flats fire is titled 57-33 9-11-57 AL-DOW Fire-Building 71. Included within this file are photocopies of the Report of Investigation of Serious Incident in Building 71 on September 11, 1957 and a supplemental report of December 10, 1957. Also included are correspondence on the Rocky Flats fire-fighting philosophy and a letter to Brigadier General A. D. Starbird, Director of Military Applications, AEC, which details questions, answers, and findings for post-fire safety measures. Also of potential interest is information relating to another incident at Rocky Flats on June 14, 1957, in Building 71.
