Series Description: This series is comprised of correspondence pertaining to the acquisition of death certificates of former Hanford employees for the Atomic Energy Commission Hanford Health and Mortality Study. Inquiries were sent from various staff members of the Hanford Environmental Health Foundation (HEHF) primarily to the Benton and Franklin counties' health departments, the Oak Ridge Center for Epidemiologic Research, Pensions and Benefits Incorporated (a statistical data collection company) and the Center for Health Statistics of the Washington State Department of Health. Also interfiled in the records are photocopies of death certificates, computer-generated reports, computer documentation, and database edits. Container Number 99959 contains Thomas Mancuso's correspondence related to death certificates. A file in Container Number 126013, labeled Milham Roster, pertain to HEHF's attempts to obtain mortality data from the Washington Department of Health through the Washington State Occupational Mortality Surveillance System. Computer disks included in the series were not reviewed.
