In 1985 the San Bruno, California, branch of the National Archives accessioned 3 cubic feet of AEC San Francisco Field Office records pertaining to the development of the PLUTO and SNAP reactors at the Nevada Test Site. The records span the 1957-1965 period and include narrative and development reports. All the records have been declassified and are open for public review.

Since the issuance of the previous edition of this guide, the National Archives transferred 36 cubic feet of classified Naval Radiological Defense Laboratory, RG 181, records from the San Bruno Federal Records Center to the Pacific Sierra Regional Archives. (See page 68 for a description of these records.) HAI screened more than half of these records in 1991 before funding limitations curtailed our screening efforts.
