Series Description: This series consists of a variety of records relating to the May 1969 fire in Buildings 776/777. Included are decontamination plans, press releases, information concerning protective clothing, transcripts of public briefings and presentations, monthly status reports, site survey reports, material control and waste disposal procedures, equipment lists, operating manuals, and specifications. Accession Number G324 contains disposal records for waste from the fire, which provide waste crate numbers, shipment dates, and packing instructions. Accession Number H311 has records pertaining to locations and amounts of plutonium in the damaged buildings. The series contains photographs of the cleanup efforts and plutonium storage containers.
