Series Description: This series contains documentation for nuclear materials which were removed from the site inventory due to normal operational losses. Authorizations for material removal and computer-generated reports note changes in the inventory. Materials could be removed from the inventory for special research projects and programs or because they could not be economically recovered from waste solutions, residues, or contaminated equipment. Data found in the records include MBA [Material Balance Area] codes, discard dates, IDCs [Item Description Codes], plutonium and americium assays in grams per liter, amounts of plutonium and americium discarded in percentages, and authorizing signatures.
