Series Description: This is a three-volume report, titled An Assessment of Criticality Safety at the Department of Energy Rocky Flats Plant, which was written to determine whether nuclear criticality accidents had occurred at Rocky Flats. The first volume, prepared by Scientech, Inc., evaluates the environmental impact of criticality accidents in general, as well as properties of fissile materials used in production, storage procedures, ventilation systems, and safety practices at Rocky Flats. While no evidence of criticality accidents was found, several recommendations were made for improving safety measures in production areas. The second and third volumes contain EG&G's response to the report.
