Series Description: Inspection and Certification records include the same types of forms found in the Stockpile Approved Product Records (SAPRs). These documents were used to insure that components manufactured by or for Rocky Flats met weapons programs design and manufacturing specifications. Test result reports may sometimes accompany these inspection and certification records, but not as frequently as they do the SAPRs. The following is an alphabetical list of forms most commonly found in this series. Titles that appear in italics are those found on the forms themselves; others are those devised to best describe the content and nature of the form.

Certificate of Inspection forms contain QA [Quality Assurance] lots, item identification, and part numbers; part uses; submission status (whether an original or resubmission); inspection instructions; lot sizes; material and process certification numbers; date; remarks; and authorizing signatures.

Certification Tickets indicate part types, serial and lot numbers, Department of Energy part numbers, designations for "Accept, Scrap, Salvage, Rework, or Deviation," deviation numbers, final disposition codes, locations where materials were shipped, dates, reference numbers, certified part/"SA" type numbers, overall certification signatures, and acceptance stamps.

Final Part Certification Cards document that components met required specifications. They include casting/batch, radiofilm, serial, and "I&A" drawing and revision numbers; part types; materials specification certification drawing sheet and revision numbers; overall disposition code numbers; final disposition dates; material stream identifications; and verification and supervisory signatures.

Inspection Data Sheets were used to record component inspection results and final disposition. The forms contain part types; casting batch, WR [War Reserve] lot, Atomic Energy Commission part, materials specification certification drawing, material "p.o.," job, and part serial numbers; "I&A" drawing and revision numbers; overall dispositions; acceptance or rejection dates; materials types; and manufacturing disposition codes.

Measuring Record/Zeiss Comet Reports are computer-generated reports apparently created during component testing. They provide tape, serial, drawing and supplemental drawing, and operator numbers; dates; and results under the headings "ADR/REC," "Operat.," "U-Tol," "L-Tol," and "Dev."

Quality Control Disposition Cards describe defects and deviations in components found during manufacturing and inspection. Information included on the cards consists of date; part name and number; shop order number; originating department; operation number; machine group; production operator clock number and shift; inspection station; quantity received, inspected, and accepted; description and probable cause of the defect; and corrective and deviation actions.
