Series Description: This series consists of records regarding weld upgrades and quality checks. The records include reports titled Quality Engineering Reports, Action Log Entries, and Assembly Process Cards; forging drawings; forge weld acceptance authorizations; hydrostatic pressure test results; and memoranda from the design agency. Included in the records is a study which covers all plant systems at Rocky Flats but primarily focuses on welds. The study contains quarterly inspection reports of welded parts submitted for non-destructive testing which list the program and identification numbers; dates prepared; items inspected; defects noted; NDT [non-destructive testing] dispositions, dates, and log numbers; Met [Metallography Laboratory] report numbers; study results; and comments. The study also includes Service Metallography Laboratory Reports, which include black-and-white photographs of parts and weld thickness measurements.
