Series Description: This series consists of inspection reports, diagrams, and X-rays documenting the quality control of pipelines and welding procedures used on pipes, mostly in the Plutonium Recovery and Waste Treatment Facility (Buildings 371/374). Pipe inspection reports list pipe circumference, type of fluid in line, line number, location (i.e., attic, basement, etc.), and area. Welding data in the inspection reports include weld number, welder name, procedure number, process and weld type, weld date, and a description of the weld. The records contain narrative radiographic inspection reports which test the porosity or strength of the pipes. The radiographic reports list date, project type, diameter, wall thickness, and defects found in the pipe weld along with what appears to be the corresponding X-ray film from which data were taken. Pressure Test Line Diagrams found in this series have cover sheets indicating test number and type of system, test specifications, handwritten notes regarding test, and schematic flow charts which diagram the pipe processing functions. Additionally, some records contain Field Pipe Welding Inspection Reports which verify the work completed by pipe welders. A sample of the systems inspected include the americium evaporation, pyrochemical salt redissolution, argon distribution, and nitrate waste neutralizer systems.
