Series Description: Records consist of the minutes of the Nuclear Safety Committee, which was responsible for preventing nuclear accidents and minimizing employee exposure to radioactive materials. Subjects addressed include strategies for handling nuclear materials during fires and floods; the monitoring of personnel for radiation exposure; storage containers and equipment; "near misses," defined as incidents in which nuclear materials came within 80 percent of becoming critical; and procedures to be adopted during and following radiation accidents. The names of committee members are noted in the records.
