Series Description: This record series contains materials which supported studies of children born in the Los Alamos area. The files include the following types of records: State of New Mexico vital statistics codes; a 1978 summary of birth tabulations, which indicates children's names, birthdates, fathers' names and occupations, and counties of residence; data analyses of the number of children born to Los Alamos employees (including Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, Zia, Los Alamos Constructors, Inc., and Department of Energy employees); data on all births occurring at Los Alamos Medical Center (1950-1977); lists of Los Alamos and non-Los Alamos occurrence births (1973-1976), which include places of residence, birthplaces, mothers' ages, names and sex of children, birthdates, and birth weights; copies of New Mexico birth certificates; certificates of stillbirths in Los Alamos County (1949-1952, 1969), which list births by month; Los Alamos County birth statistics (1957-1968), which list births by date; and New Mexico and Los Alamos County birth statistics (1971-1976).
