The purpose of the project is to establish the feasibility of determining employee exposures to chemicals adequate for use in epidemiologic studies. The files contain logs of information regarding chemical uses and handling procedures (1962-1987); Rocky Flats newsletters (1991-1993); Industrial Hygiene weekly summaries of incidents, procedures, and actions (1974-1976); Rocky Flats Chemical Operations procedures for conducting inspections, handling chemicals, cleaning tanks, and dealing with various incidents; Beryllium Routine Analysis Records (1965-1984), which consist of monthly air analysis results for various rooms, sample points, and areas; a copy of the History of the Rocky Flats Plutonium/Actinide Recovery Plant (1952-1991), dated October 1991; Dow Chemical Industrial Hygiene monthly status reports (1957-1969); site maps and building blueprints (1972-1991); two copies of the Rocky Flats Environmental Impact Statement, dated 1980 and 1992 respectively, which describe the plant, its history, equipment, safety practices, and accident procedures; a Material Hazards Manual (1976), which describes potentially hazardous materials stored or used at Rocky Flats; an EMF Key Subjects Index (1992), which lists keywords relating to complex chemicals and descriptions of events relating to those keywords; a historic release report (June 1992), which contains summaries of chemical releases at Rocky Flats; memoranda and correspondence (1955-1977); internal reports and publications (ca. 1964-1991); draft reports of a ChemRisk history of Rocky Flats (1992); chemical analyses (1975-1980); organizational charts (ca. 1970-1988); and sample sheets, which contain measurements of chemicals at various building locations (ca. 1974-1984). Also included are job descriptions for all Rocky Flats positions under both Dow Chemical Company and Rockwell International. Each description indicates the position title, classification and organization codes, date on which the position title was established, function, educational and other requirements, general duties and accountabilities, and status (i.e., whether the position was exempt or nonexempt).
