Series Description: This series consists of records which were once filed under "Military Research and Applications" in a central correspondence file maintained successively by the Atomic Energy Commission, Energy Research and Development Administration, and Department of Energy. Included are originals and copies of correspondence, reports, procedures manuals, and photographs. This series also contains many reports, including Nuclear Criticality Safety Survey, Respiratory Protection Against Airborne Radioactive Materials, Technical Specifications for the Rocky Flats Nuclear Safety Facility (Building 886), Weapons Production Operations Appraisal Quality Control Program, Comprehensive Appraisal of the Rocky Flats Reactor Safety Program, and Final Report on Special Impact Test of Plutonium Shipping Containers. In addition to routine administration, subjects addressed in the records include nuclear criticality safety, tank and glovebox safety, packaging and shipment of nuclear materials, and many more.
