The Radiation Sciences Division of the School of Aerospace Medicine originally held custody of unique films and slides of clouds appearing after U.S. nuclear testing. The pictures included both 16-millimeter films and lantern slides of Plumbbob and Teapot clouds, including monkeys flown through the clouds before humans. Several years ago, John C. Mitchell, Radiation Sciences Division, sent the films to the National Archives Motion Pictures Division, though the archives does not have any record of these films. At the present time, the location of these films is unknown. In addition, according to Mr. Mitchell, the lantern slides previously listed in this guide were destroyed.
