Series Description: The Thule Air Force Base Accident Records consist of correspondence and worksheets of survey data taken as a result of an accident which occurred at the Thule Air Force Base, Greenland. Included is a photocopy of a letter to Warren Rooker from H.E. Lenander, Director of Weapons Application at Sandia Laboratories (now Sandia National Laboratories), regarding the evaluation and disposition of Thule Air Force Base residue material. The surveys were apparently taken in response to a stipulation in the letter to decontaminate the material before shipment to Sandia. The survey data indicate that the accident material was stored in Building 777, Room 452. Also provided are sample numbers, smear readings (in disintegrations per minute), direct readings (in counts per minute), and a list of parts sampled, which included cylinders, rings, bell ends, thread ends, and step joints.

Data Elements: 8, 89, 103, 120, 122
