Series Description: These transaction reports consist primarily of two types of forms, Department of Energy/Nuclear Regulatory Commission (DOE/NRC) Form 741, titled Nuclear Materials Transaction Report, and Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) Form 101, which were used to document the shipment of nuclear materials between Rocky Flats and other facilities. The forms include shipper and receiver RIS [Receiving Inspection Station] codes, names and addresses of shippers and receivers, nature of the transactions, account numbers, transfer authorities, material types and descriptions, packaging data, gross weights and volumes, fissile classes, and classification dates. Related documents, such as laboratory sampling results and other authorization forms, may also be attached to the forms. These contain plutonium button numbers; sealed can weights; radiation levels; plutonium isotopes and weights; weights of other isotopes in the buttons, including americium, silicon, gallium, uranium, lead, cadmium, and copper; stability and impurity factors; amounts shipped and received; gross quantities; physical and chemical descriptions; material histories and hazards; and appropriate approval signatures. It appears that AEC Form 101 is a predecessor to DOE/NRC Form 741. For related records, see Volume IV. Nuclear Materials Shipment Logs, 1964-1972, ca. 1981-1982 Data Elements: 89, 120 |
