Nuclear Materials Management Safeguards System (NMMSS) Journals, 1977-1988Location: Active:
Arrangement: Varies; chronological or numerical by project or element number Originating Office: Nuclear Materials Accounting, Nuclear Materials Control, and Nuclear Materials Control and Accountability organizations of Rockwell International Finding Aids: Records Storage Receipt
Series Description: The journals in this series consist primarily of two types of worksheets used to document the internal transfer of nuclear materials. These worksheets apparently were used to compile transfer data into a single source before the data were entered into the NMMSS [Nuclear Materials Management Safeguards System]. The two forms, Internal Project Transfers and Nuclear Material Transaction Journal, essentially provide the same information, including shipper and receiver RIS [Receiving Inspection Station] codes, internal transaction and contract numbers, action dates, shipper/receiver project numbers, element weights, weight percentages of isotopes, isotope weights, and transportation and packaging data. The series also contains two other types of forms: SACNET [Secure Automatic Communications Network] System Data Transmission Requests and COEI [Composition of Ending Inventory] Printouts, which also provide similar information, although this could not be definitely determined as the forms do not have identifiers. Data Elements: 89, 120 |
