Hardware/Software: DEC 6240/ASCII file format Originating Office: LANL, Occupational Medicine Group, Epidemiology Disposition Authority: Unscheduled Files Description: The analysis files prepared by LANL for the epidemiologic study of workers at Rocky Flats include information compiled from personnel, vital status, work history, industrial hygiene, exposure, and other records containing personal information about the workers. Personal identifiers in the files include employee birth dates and social security numbers. The file RF.MARCH88 served as an analysis file for a study on workers involved in the 1965 fire at Rocky Flats. A draft of the study was completed in conjunction with the Rocky Flats site but was never published. The file NEW_TERM_RFANALYT.NIOSH is an analysis file containing data through 1989. This file was submitted to the Comprehensive Epidemiologic Data Resource. The files NEURF.DAT, TAPE2.SRT, and PUFILE.DAT were used in the writing of an article in the Journal of Occupational Medicine 26 (1984): 721-724. The file RFEXEX2.DAT supported preliminary work pertaining to the article. The file NEURF.DAT was created to apply a 10-year lag (i.e., 10 years were added to termination and exposure dates from the dates listed in the Rocky Flats Demographic File). The file NEURF.DAT includes only those white males who worked more than 2 years and met the lag restrictions. It consists of 3,571 records with 18 variables which include level of exposure, hire and termination dates, and personal information such as birth and death dates, education, and vital status. PUFILE.DAT consists of 7,100 records with 13 variables. It includes internal and external exposure data for white males, cause of death, vital status, and personal information including birth and death dates, and hire and termination dates. The files ALLRF86.DAT, RF.5413, RF.ANALYTIC and COHORT.TEN supported work which resulted in an article in the American Journal of Epidemiology 125 (February 1987): 231-250. RFEXEX2.DAT was created in 1983 and contains the entire Rocky Flats cohort. The file consists of 9,536 records with 18 variables, including personal information and exposure data. RF_ANAL91.FIN contains internal dosimetry data for Rocky Flats workers. Related Records: II.
