Series Description: This series consists of 27 logs and 4 folders which document the various
studies conducted by the Epidemiology Section. It includes general logs, which have entries
pertaining to meetings, important conversations, decisions, and receipts of data sets. Other logs
consist of entries made by computer programmers which document data creation, modification,
and updates.
The following is a list of log titles, dates, and contents:
Plutonium Workers Study: Telephone Log, June 1980-March 1983
This is a log documenting telephone calls pertaining to the study. It indicates times and dates
of calls, names of callers and persons called, and subjects discussed.
HSW [Health Study of Workers], January 1981-December 1982
This includes notes of computer programmers regarding the Health Study of Workers [HSW]
database. The information pertains to file updates, backups, and other activities. File names
and types of data contained in files are also noted. The HSW is not limited to any single cohort;
it may include workers from several of the other established cohorts.
Plutonium Workers General Log, June 1980-January 1984
Entries in this log document the progress of the Plutonium Workers Study. Notes include
information concerning meetings, telephone conversations, and the receipt of data files from
various sources.
Plutonium Workers Study: Hanford Log, June 1980
This log contains one entry pertaining to a meeting of the Hanford Health and Mortality Study
Advisory Committee.
Health Physics, 1981
This log consists of two entries concerning computer files RFHP81 and PXHP1 for the NOS
operating system, both of which pertain to the Rocky Flats and Pantex sites.
LANL Incidence, 1981-1987
The records pertaining to LANL data are comprised of four spiral notebooks and four logs. These
include information concerning computer programs; file creation, updates, runs, and
modifications; and file names and histories.

Los Alamos Cancer Incidence, Study Logbook, 1982-1983

Los Alamos Database, 1980
This log documents activities related to the establishment of the Los Alamos Database. It
contains memoranda concerning data coding, editing, and modification.
Los Alamos Study Log, 1985
These records consist of a manila folder of documents which pertain to file updates and

Plutonium Workers Study: Mound Log, 1980-1984

Mound Monson Logs, January 1983-May 1984
These records consist of loose papers in a manila folder. They include logsheets documenting

RF [Rocky Flats] Computer Log, November 1981-February 1983
Information in this log concerns file creation, updates, and modifications. The log also contains
information about utility programs and data run results.
Rocky Flats Data Base Log, March 1982-September 1984
Entries in this log pertain to additions and modifications to the Rocky Flats database.
Plutonium Workers Study: Rocky Flats Log, June 1980-May 1985
This log contains general documentation for the study, including information on the data
acquired by the Epidemiology Section staff. However, it contains little specific information
concerning electronic files.
Rocky Flats Analytical Files and Analysis, December 1981-July 1982
This log contains documentation for Rocky Flats analytical files created to conduct mortality
rate analyses. Included is information regarding file additions, updates, and modifications. The
log also contains some programming information and documentation of file layouts.
Oil Shale Project, January 1981-September 1984
This log contains general information concerning the study but does not include specific
information about electronic files.
Brain Cancer Study, February 1983
Included are two spiral notebooks which contain documentation pertaining to a study titled
"Case-Control Study of Brain Tumors Among White Males Employed at the Rocky Flats Plant."
Included are a memorandum describing the scope of the study and documentation for electronic
files created and used in the study.
Rocky Flats Monson Logs, April 1984
These logs include computer-generated listings of modifications made to the Rocky Flats
analytical files.
Loss to Follow-Up Analysis (LtF) Using Rocky Flats Data Set, December 1981-September 1982
This log documents efforts to reanalyze work conducted in 1981 pertaining to "differential
mortality among an LtF group." Included are statistical tables and documentation for statistical
programs.
Rocky Flats Coding, August 1980-June 1981
This is a daily log of activities pertaining to the coding of Rocky Flats data.
SR [Savannah River] Coding and Cleanup Log, August-October 1982
This contains computer-generated reports of individuals' names and social security numbers
and instructions for entering employee data into the Savannah River database.
Plutonium Workers Study: Savannah River Log, June 1980-November 1984
This is a daily log documenting progress of the study. It provides information concerning
meetings and data acquisition.
ZIA-ALOO [Albuquerque Operations Office] Study Log, 1985
This log contains information on file creation, updates, and modifications.
