Series Description: This series consists of documentation related to a lung cancer study of Hanford employees. Items of interest include a report of the study's findings, titled A Case-Cohort Study of Lung Cancer, Ionizing Radiation, and Tobacco Smoking Among Males at the Hanford Site; a computer-generated report of the file layout for submission to the Comprehensive Epidemiologic Data Resource; general background information on the study; a log detailing each data management and analysis step taken during the course of the study; and computer-generated reports of data for the study. Personal identifiers in the reports are employee name, address, social security number, birth and death date, sex, and race. Other types of data include code designations for smoking habits (i.e., cigar, pipe), hire and termination dates, and job titles.
